My Baby Shower gifts.

I used my Go Baby to make several of these baby gifts for up coming showers. I will be ready for Spring. I have made a few of these. I am also going to make another onsie and cut out a circle, quilt it..fold it in half..and it will be place as attached bib..that way the new mom can clip the baby pacifier to it..and have a place to tuck it away..while baby is sleeping..these are great for when you are out and about in the baby stroller..to keep the pacifier clean.....I thought about sticking to something easy and that I know how to make, lol

I made the Blue Jean Tote by cutting off the pant leg of old jeans and using it for the tote. So the hem of the leg is the top of my tote. The extra fabric was used to make the 2 handles.

Cut a strip at least 2 inches (5cm) wide down the length of the leg to make the strap. The outside of the leg is usually a little bit straighter. Cut the strip to the length you want, so that the purse will hang where you want it to. Leave the strip a bit wider than you want, so that there will be a seam allowance for the next step.

The handles: Sew the strip closed. Turn the strip inside-out, so that you are seeing the wrong side of the fabric. Sew it closed along one side, trying to keep the seam as straight as possible and parallel to the seam you already have.

Turn the strap back right side out. This step will be easier if you cut a generous width. It may help to use a dowel or other long, slender object to push the fabric through itself.

Now you are ready to cut off the other leg up above the hem to the length you want the tote to be. The actual hem of the leg will be the opening of the purse. Turn wrong side and seam it up. Now your bottom of tote is closed. Attach handles.

Now Cut out your Teddy Bear or any other items you want to apply. I used Go Baby die I

ONE TIP , if using a printed fabric, you might want to cut the die cut out first with freezer paper. This gives you a template so you can line up the die over the pattern fabric exactly where you want your cut.

Place die on Die Cut Machine Go Baby with foam side of die up. Then place fabric of choice on die. Place Cutting Mat size 6" by 12" on top of fabric.

You now have what I like to call a sandwich. I cut out 2 teddy bears, 1 for my baby onsie ( purchased at Walmart by Gerber in solid white) stitch the Teddy on the front of your Onsie

added my eyes and ribbon around the neck.

For the Jean Pant Leg Tote (which will be my gift bag to hold baby products) I used the Teddy Bear from Baby, Baby die For this Teddy I cut off the head and made my own stuff head and attached. I also added a few of the starts from Star die but I did trim them down to size with my scissors because I wanted them a bit smaller.

I stitched everything down, added the word baby...Now I have the perfect baby gift.

Got My awesome Letraset Markers to play with

Gift bags for the Nursing Home..make them each year.
I recently got the ProMarkers set 1 and 2 which are really great starter sets if you do own any markers. Each set has 12 markers which are dual tips and have a blender pen in each set. OMG I am in love with these markers. They do not streak at all. They blend so beautiful and easy. This is my first time working with this type of marker and it is awesome.

Since I have never had much luck using Alcohol Ink markers... I wanted to test these on different types of paper/card stock/vellum/acrylic. Here are my findings

They work great on good quality card stock and do not bleed through. I used Bazzil white card stock show here

Cheap paper here...they did bleed through so you want a good quality paper. But most markers bleed on cheap paper. Note this was thin paper not card stock, more like printer paper

Now I love how they look when you want to shade/blend/lighten or make dark. Not sure how they do it, but the blender pen is still clean after you shade. In this photo the ink is still wet..but you can use the blender pen to lighten......or if you want it dark in other areas just add more ink, but what I love is when they dry your project look so nice. I think before now this is why I did not use markers that much on any of my projects. I was always upset with how I could see the streaks and never could blend, BUT NO EFFORT HERE.....YOU JUST COLOR, BLEND, SHADE...AND PERFECT

You can use the blender pen first then add your color on top or you can color and then blend

Oh my gosh on Vellum they are beautiful and have that pretty transparent look I like. In all the photos the ink was still wet, but when dry....(.no streaks at all). Once the Vellum dried it was beautful. The dry time was just a little longer on Vellum than card stock.

All the markers have dual tips.

Here is Set 1 and 2 I will be using in my projects

I am making my Christmas Cards, gift bags, etc now and it was a good time to test out these markers. Below my Gift Bag I made. I used the markers on the Little Girl in the snow suit

I stamped my little girl on vellum and colored with the markers
Starting with the pants/gloves/shoes I used Cool Grey 4 from Set 1 the more you color the darker it gets..but if you want to lighten just use the blender pen and voila like magic it lightens.

For the scarf I wanted to make my own color so I blended Lime Green and Sky Blue from Set 1 to make more of a teal green shade. I also blend these 2 colors for sections on the winter cap. I love how you can mix the colors to make custom colors

On the face I used Soft Peach from Set 2
Hair Umber Set 2

Jacket and other sections of hat I used Red Ruby Set 1
Shaded with Cerise Set 2 and of course used the blender pen to make the color flow effortless

I used black from Set 1 to darken the lines all over the whole image after I finished coloring. It makes all the color pop. Tip make sure your image is dry...so you will get the crisp outline.

Next cut out a 3" scallop from Mini Monograms Cricut Cartridge w/ cream card stock...then used the pierce tool all around the scallop edges. I think the holes give it that added detail.

Add pop dots to back of my little girl image for 3D effect and added to the scallop. Add my red ribbon. Put side until you finish printing/cutting all your images.

I used my Imagine Machine and Cartridge Joys of the Seasons to cut out the winter Tree at 7.7" select layers, then print cut. This will give me a top portion of the tree so I can pop dot it too for dimension.
I run the whole tree through my Xyron 9" Creative Station to add edge to edge adhesive

Remember I chose to cut my tree in layers so for the top layer I used Martha Stewart Glue Pen to add glue to edge of the tree and sprinkled with Martha Stewart Crystal Clear Glitter.... attach layer to the tree for dismension....It gives it that snow dust effect.

I chose to cut out the red bird larger at 1.9" ( 2 layers pop dot for 3 D) and used the Ruby ProMarker for shading...added little glue and glitter...

Add my finish Images to the bag. One last step I used a Sentiment Stamp "THE GIFT" on lower left corner. Add red crepe paper inside

Now my bag is just waiting for the right gift to put inside. Made 40 of these bags to put treats in for the Nursing home residents

My next Project home Tea Light Lanterns from Vellum

Cut a 4 x 16 strip of Vellum, score every 4". Chose which section will be the front of your lantern.

Stamped Image on Vellum and colored in with my ProMarkers to make this cute little Angel lanterns. For safety I used the battery operated tea lights

See how cute the finish project turned out. Thank you ProMarker you are now one of my favorite markers..actually the only Alcohol markers I will use.

Markers used Ruby Red Set 1

Umber blended with Lemon yellow for hair Set 2

Cobalt Blue for the cloud Set 2

Fold all your score lines and close the back with Vellum Adhesive...add your little battery tea light...how cute.

This could be used for Valentine/Mother's Day,etc

Cathie's new product is call the Glue Gun Helper Kit. The kits come with everything you need to protect your work surface and your fingers. Here is a picture of the Glue Gun Help Kit.

Notice the finger caps. I love them...I can do assembly without hot glue on my fingers. If you want to read more about Cathie's products, she has several websites. Set your DVR's on Mondays to record Cathie and Steve on DIY Creative Juice. All the links are on the left side bar.

Here is the Project that was made so easy by having this awesome kit.
You need to cut out your flowers...any 6 petal will do.
The first flower you cut a slit between the petal all way to the center of flower
Second flower you cut one petal out complete..but do not throw away because these can be used in your center
Third flower you cut out 2 petals and put aside.

I have made these several times in different colors. I also entered the same type of bouquet at Cricut Chirp and they showed that project in January 2011 on the Cricut.com website.. I recently purchased Cricut's new cartridge Flower Shoppe and saw my pattern in the booklet I think if they high light your project that they do have the rights to copy your instructions/pattern.

Ok so on to the next step..easy just overlap all flowers and glue together where you cut out the petals. I held mine together with paper clips until the glue dried.

.Now cut off the bottom point of each flower...so they will sit inside each other..plus you can use the hole that it makes by cutting the bottom point off....to put sticks into the bottom of the assemble flower....to make stems if you want to use in a vase.
The petal you cut out of each flower can be curled and glue together to use as your center of the flower
So assemble photos 1-3 and then add your center of the flower. Now you have something that looks like this

I did spray with adhesive and sprinkle with Martha Steward Glitter. My bouquet is finished and I did not burn my fingers once using Cathie's Glue Gun Helper Kit.

I had to make these treat bags in a hurry on Halloween evening. I could tell I was about to run out. These are not as pretty as the first ones. I post them here anyways. I had 3 bags left to give out and decided I would do some real fast ones. I was afraid more kids would come up and be upset if I had to give them candy from a bowl. I did not really like these done in a rush, but maybe the little ones would not care. I made 12 of these in less than 20mins. So now you know why they look like a child made them, lol. This is a different take on a Train Card I made last week. I was ask to make another, so I changed it up a bit by adding the Lion from the B for Boy Lite Cartridge

Cartridge used B for Boy

White cardstock cut for a 3 & 1/2"   by 8 & 1/2" (started w/white cardstock 7 x 17 scored half way mark)

Train cut @ 3" in Red, Navy, Black, Yellow Cardstock
Tiger cut @ 3" in Mango, Yellow, Brown and used Wiggly Eyes size 7mm

Top Layer Light Blue Cardstock cut @ 3 & 1/4"   by 8 & 1/4", then ran it through Cuttlebug with tiny hearts emboss folder. Glued to top of base card with Xyron Machine

Navy strip running down left front side cut @ 1" by 3 &1/2", ran through cuttlebug with circles emboss folder. Glued with Xyron Machine.
Stamp Sentiment inside card with 3 Birds   (Happy Birthday) clear stamp. Use Colorbox Chaulk Ink Navy

This idea is kinda neat for those who do not have a place to store their ribbons. This white tub can be purchased at walmart, very cheap. You just buy wooden dowel rods slide through one end of the tub place your ribbon on then run the other end of the dowel through the other end of the tub. This small tub holds 24 rolls of ribbon

I would give credit to the person, but I can not remember where I first saw this idea....

The Green and Brown Scallop is from page 51 of the Holiday Cake cut at 2 inches then trimmed to fit.

Dino is cut with Birthday Cake at 3 1/4". I used dollar cream ribbon. This card took only about 10 minutes to make. I do not know why, but I do not make many critter type cards. Anyways always a first, right.

The little girl was cut at 3" from Sugar and Spice with cream, red, yellow and red poke a dot cardstock.
The yellow base card, was cut at 4 1/2" from Lacey Labels
The layers for this same card was cut once with white, then red so that I could have different colors instead of the card and it layers all yellow. The layers also cut at 4 1/2"

Card was made from white cardstock 8 1/2 x 11 cut in half to make two cards, then scored at the center mark to make the fold.

I think this is simple yet sweet for a little baby boy or toddler. Bear was cut 2 1/2" from Live Simply Lite Cartridge and the Scallop Label 3" from Just Because Cricut Cartridge and ran it through the Big Shot using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I ran my blue ribbon through the button holes. Added some light blue swiss dot paper, then added a strip of cordinated paper to the bottom of the card

I made a Christmas Cookie Canister out of a Large Mix Nut can. I added a silver ball mini Ornament for the handle on top, Matching Christmas Paper, xyron adhesive machine. . I embossed and cut the flower petals with my Big Shot machine, Assembled flower with pop dots and glue dots. Added red button to center and tried Cream City Ribbon (all natural recycle materials ) Place some green and red gems to the outer rim of lid. Glue the flower to my canister, all done. I will put cookies in this baby.

Cream City is a made in USA Company. We need to support as many of our USA small companies we can. I did rip the ribbon so it would be thin enough to go through the button. This ribbon tears even. I love it. You can print or stamp on it, curl, etc...

It even takes to Paper Gilding. For those who have never used the rolls of paper gilding. It is very shiny. It is sorta like gold leaf but must better. You can buy the kit and it comes with 12 rolls, instructions, 2 bottles of metalliques adhesive and the adhesive applicators. I used Cream City Red Ribbon with the Gilding Kit

Now for my flower bouquet I new I would use them sooner or later. Now I call this recycle use. You hang them upside down in a dark closet. You room or closet must be dark at all times. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks. This will depend on your flower.

I took a 12 x 12 sheet of Christmas Paper and scored at 3 inch intervals all the way across. I used my Martha Score Board. Used a reindeer rub on to the lower left corner. Placed a pretty Christmas Tag. I used the Red and Green Gilding techique on my ribbon and leaf die cut. I took a pencil to curl the ribbon just a bit. Tiny red bells for berries tried on with craft wire from Walmart.

Do not forget if you are making cards for the Children's Hospital donation. I send out a batch on the 20th of December and another on Jan 15. Any type of card to cheer up a sick child will do.

She used black and white, I used Navy and White and changed a few things. I changed the front

up a bit.

Cartrudges used Plantin Schoolbook, Storybook, Cindy Loo

Paper used Wausau Metallic Blue and White
White metallic Oval cut from Plantin Schoolbook @ 5" ran through my Xyron Adhesive Machine and added clear glass beads for some extra bling.
Navy Blue metallic Oval cut from Plantin Schoolbook @ 5 1/2", add White Stitch Marks with Souffle Pen

All flowers were cut from Plantinschool

1 navy flower cut @ 1 1/2"
2 navy flowers cut @1"
1 white flower cut @ 1"
2 white flowers cut @ 3/4"
1 navy flower cut @ 3/4"
1 navy leaf cut @ 3/4" with Shadow key, stitched white marks on leaf with Souffle Pen
1 white leaf cut @ 1/2"
I used Viva Decor Pearls Pens to the Center of the assembled flowers in colors Ice White and Blue
I assembled the flowers using glue dots plus alternated the color and size, then slipped the leaf just slightly under the middle flower.

Navy Square Dollie was cut @ 5" from the Cindy Loo Cartridge and then cut in half. I ran through Xyron Adheasive Machine and attached to the left front of the card.

Cut on white strip of cardstock 4 3/4" long and 1/2" wide. Ran the strip through my Big Shot Machine using Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Folder. Attach to Right from side of card.

Fonts made with Storybook Cartridge cut @ 3/4" I wanted the font to be a little more chunky so I cut it with the shadow feature. I stitched all the Fonts with Souffle White Pen. Attached with Zig Glue Pen.

Just one year ago I was in the craft store and saw women purchase large amounts of paper. I could not figure out what was so fun about paper. One month later, I was looking around You Tube and came across Obsessed with Scrapbooking video and was hooked..

One year later I think I improved lots when it comes to making cards, etc...

This card was made with Holiday Cakes Cartridge. All the Embellishments on the front were made with the Holiday Cakes Cartridge, cut at 4 1/2". I then added a strip and it embossed it with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment inside (Happy Father's Day) was cut at 2 3/4 from Wild Card Cartridge.

The Finished Card is 4 3/4 x 6 1/2

I made this card to give my husband on Father's Day

The papers used are by Provocraft Superslab called Rob and Bob Studio. The card will fit in a A2 envelope. I love these fold cards. I cut a envelope #2 from Walk in My Garden @ 2 3/4 and then cut a square at 1 3/4 to go inside that. I put the word Remember inside. I then cut a stip of cordinating papers 1 inch by 15 1/4 inch long to trim the bottom inside of the card. I then put a paper flower and brad at the end of that strip.

I did 3 birds rub on borders on the gate fold of the card. I also added the owl and sentiment " OWL always love you. I put some cordinating papers also on the back of this card.

The Base card is cut from tan color cardstock.

Here in North Carolina, we never get tornados unless a hurricane send one our way...We have trees down..many trees are on my neighbors homes...

See her photo above. This is the first cat I have own. She is so sweet. Can you believe she was a ferrel cat and so wild. She is still afraid of my husband. I am the only one she trust. It took her long enough to trust me. I tried for 6 months.

I printed out some door banners for the kids bdays. I figure the hospital can hang it on the patients door. Everyone walking down the wing can stop at the door to dsy Happy Bday. I used this same concept to make bookmarkers. I made 50 each, that is why I kept it simple.

I also made these something to put on their door for Christmas. I have about 50 of these also. I love the bow and holly which has little red bells for the berries.

I then made these simple little gift tags to go around the teddy bears. I made 30 of these.

I made these simple card today because I really need one in like 5 minutes...It is not my usual..because I did not add ribbon or anything else but pop dots for 3d effect. The blue card all I did was fold my card stock in half...run through the emboss machine...then sand the image..add a flower, ribbon and brad...finished.....

I made a card just like this some time back and wanting to add it to my friends collection I am working on. I used my Big Shot and one punch to make this card. No electronics needed. I just love the Big Shot. It has such a heavy stable base and never wobbles.

I have been scanning photos for weeks now to put in my digital books. Now the photos are good for another 100 yrs. I finally got all my photos from my kids from 30 yrs ago edit the best you can edit a photo that old and on dvd's to store. There were no digital camera way back then. You see my oldest is almost 34 yrs old. See all those wrinkles in my new profile picture, I earned those!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a sample of some of the books finished. They started in 1974 and go all the way up to 2006. Just 4 more years of photos, lol and all my photos will be on dvd's and digital scrapbooks. I hope my family appreciates this when I am gone.

Take a Picture frame if you do not want to cut out the wood yourself. Glue strips of ribbon or fabric to fit the center. You can use any type of knobs you like on the side and bottom. Or you could buy some of that mesh cut a strip for ear rings here too. Ribbon to hang it, there you have a simple child room organization for all those loose items

Another one for us grown ups
You can also take a old screen window and paint it up and add knobs, etc. the screens make a great place to hold ear rings for the grown kids and the knobs once again can hold your hair items, bracelets, etc If you go with the window screen, I would really replace the old screen with new or buy that mesh you get from craft supplies and just stable it across the back. Do not use a rusty screen, always remove the old screen and replace it. I just love the shabby chic look. I can not remember where I first saw this type of idea.

I took a picture of the card at a different angle so you could see it is an S-Shape card. I did not even measure, lol. I just score over to the point where I thought the fold would look good.

cricut machine cartridges and punch in this one. I used a balloon die from cricut cartridge and I stamp the larger balloon. You can use any stamp that fits the holiday or theme. Rub on by 3 Birds, added a strip of red down the side. used raffia for the string.

These S cards are easy to make. Just first decide the size you want to make the card. Next you just score the top of the card. Start at the right side and move over about 3".

Hi this red base card was made using the Christmas Card cartridge, but color filled with Imagine More Cards Cartridge. I also cut out the scallop frame and sentiment with Imagine More Cards Cartridge. The size for the card is 5", frame and sentiment cut at 3". I then just cut a small white strip and ran it through my thing (lol can not remember what the heck that hand thingy called). I attached the white strip with a brad on each end. Of course everything was pop dotted. I put a simple stamp sentiment inside for someone's bday.
The base card is red, but it looks like the white background is part of the card. It is not part of the card, which makes the card appear to not be straight.

Sorry been missing in action. It has been really crazy busy around here. Please stop in often. I working on getting more prizes to giveaway and hope to have more projects posted. I have not even used my Spring 2011 seasonal bundle yet. I need to check out what that is all about.

I just wanted to share with you my new herb garden. I saw this idea somewhere, but do not remember. You paint your pots with chalk board paint and just write which herb or flower you are growing. Next just tie some raffia on the pot. Simple yet cute.

Pretty clips for your Magnet boards. You can hang photos or messages with the cute little clothes pins. Just glue on your paper , magnets and buttons. This would make a great craft project for your kids too.

Next is a neat idea using cans for candles on your deck or patio during a party. Paint and put holes in with nails. Very simple

So get crafting for your next party or just have fun with the kids. Hope you enjoy. Now I need to go play with my cricut, lol. It has been lonely

Ok so many are asking about the Cards for Hospital. I will be mailing them out around Dec. 10th. If you can try to get them to me before that date. I am leaving it up to the Children's Hospital as to how they want to give them out.

We need Holidays,Bdays, Get Well or any card to put a smile on their face at just a trying time in their life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. God Bless you. One note if you laminate some of the inside pages, they can take the sticker on and off like paper dolls. I might try to get some paper dolls made too.

Now I made another to donate. This one is a card booklet and it will have sticker sheets. I added about 7 pages inside for the stickers. I thought maybe doing a few of these and add a little box of crayons with the book.

I am not so happy with the red back ground of the globe. I did not have a cut for a globe, so this is my attempt to make this look like a snow globe. I am not completely happy with it, but I want to make many cards for the hospital that I guess this is a keeper.
